INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES LABORATORY | |
My research activities in "Internal Combustion Engines" and "Heat & Mass Transfer" are obvious from the publications in International Journals and International Conferences, which are listed in the next sections. Many more publications in National (Greek) Journals and Conferences as well as Technical Reports are not included here.
From 1985 till today I am the Director of the Internal Combustion Engines Laboratory (ICEL), which belongs to the Thermal Engineering Section of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) which is the oldest and most famous Technological Institute in Greece.
In the I.C. Engines Laboratory a wide variety of piston I.C. engines coupled to dynamometer
test stands is installed. The engines are fully equipped with modern measuring systems
(pressure transducers, temperature sensors, exhaust gas analysers, etc), which are
connected on-
There are more than six postgraduate students working in the Laboratory on a full time basis, conducting their Ph.D. level research under my supervision, whereas a number of corresponding diploma dissertations are performed each year.
The Laboratory (ICEL) also incorporates a local library rich in International Journals and Textbooks on the subjects of I.C. Engines and Heat Transfer, the Laboratory's secretariat, the machine shop personnel and technical staff responsible for the experimental equipment.
